"I can honestly say this is the best job I have ever had, where the word ‘family’ is really what it’s all about. The care and attention given to both the client and their family is second to none and I never thought it possible to have a job that fulfilled what work should be. This is largely due to the care, support and understanding FCI have for their clients and for their employees."Patrick Byrne, HCW, Family Carers Ireland

"Qualifying as a nurse many years ago and then leaving that career to become a family carer was the start of my journey with FCI, receiving support from them as an organisation when I needed it. I then began working with the company as a Health Care Assistant and this has led to the role I cover now as the Home Services Officer in Cavan and Monaghan. I absolutely love my job and consider myself very lucky as the team I work with are so supportive, from our Office Manager to the administration staff and then our Health Care workers, we all realise the importance of what we do and take pride in doing our jobs to the best of our ability." Eleanor Murphy, HSO, Family Carers Ireland
Who are we?
Family Carers Ireland has been embedded in homes all over Ireland for more than 30 years, providing quality respite, emergency respite and home care services. We are a HSE-approved home care provider and pride ourselves in the knowledge that we understand the needs of our Service Users. We’re truly committed to providing safe, person-centred care to the highest of standards. We are the national charity supporting family carers across the country who dedicate their lives to caring for loved ones such as children or adults with additional needs, physical or intellectual disabilities, frail older people, those with palliative care needs or those living with chronic illnesses or addiction.
Why work for us?
As a not-for-profit organisation, any profit earned from the delivery of home care goes directly back into supporting family carers. This may be through the provision of specialised training programmes, respite breaks, equipment supply, emergency respite/respite provision, advocacy, peer support groups, emergency care planning or many other worthwhile initiatives.
Our focus has always been on providing person-centred, quality home care services that respond to the changing needs of Service Users - all delivered by professional, friendly and empathetic Home Care Workers. You could be part of this team.
