HSE Home Support
We are a HSE-approved home care provider and pride ourselves in the knowledge that we understand your needs and are truly committed to ensuring you and your loved ones are safe, comfortable and cared for to the highest of standards.
The HSE Home Support Service is a free service available to people aged 65 and over to help them live independently at home. The service provide assistance with daily tasks for example help getting out of bed and getting dressed for the day, assistance with meals, assistance with personal care or help getting ready for bed at night. Services include help with daily tasks like getting in/out of bed, dressing, and bathing. This is a free service offered by the HSE to support with informal care that may already be in place. Family Carers Ireland is an approved provider.

Contact your GP

Contact your local Community Nurse (located in your nearest HSE Primary Care Centre)
or
Complete the HSE Home Support Application Form. The form can be filled out by the applicant, a family member, or a health professional (e.g., GP, nurse, or social worker).
What happens then?
Your local Community Nurse will visit you at home to complete an assessment
This assessment is reviewed by the local Home Support Team and you will be notified by them if you have been approved for a service and how many hours you will receive weekly.
The service is provided either by the HSE directly or by an approved provider.
You can choose which provider you would like to provide your home support service – Family Carers Ireland is an approved provider, all of our staff have the required mandatory healthcare training, mandatory safeguarding training, Garda vetting and international police clearance – as required under the Home Support Service Authorisation scheme.
