Our network of experienced Carer Supports Managers provide support to family carers through and beyond their care journey by delivering high quality, appropriate, targeted supports based on the individual needs of each family carer.
Carer Supports Managers can offer support by phone, online or in-person appointments to provide individualised information, supports and guidance. They are available to conduct a personalised well-being review specific to your caring role and advocate on your behalf to access rights and entitlements, counselling, respite and homecare services, nursing home services, and day care services. They will also signpost you to additional community supports most relevant to your needs.
Within government restrictions and guidelines, our Carer Supports Managers also provide opportunities for family carers to connect with others who share similar experiences including support groups, social events, training and carers' forums.

If you would like to take part in a well-being review, you will have a chance to talk about how you are doing in seven different areas of your life as outlined on the Carers StarTM.
Based on this discussion, you and your Carer Supports Manager will agree an action plan designed to support you to develop a sustainable care routine and to improve your overall wellbeing.
It is really important when you talk with the Carer Supports Manager, you are as honest as possible, so that the actions agreed will really make a difference to you as a family carer.
Many carers find positive meaning in their caring role and with the right supports, carers can flourish. However, inconsistent and irregular support, combined with the demands of the caring role, can have a major negative impact on the emotional well-being and mental health of a family carer.
Family Carers Ireland can offer access to counselling free of charge for carers in need of this type of support. The counselling service can be accessed through speaking to one of our Carer Supports Managers.
