Home care hours and the carer

Shirley Thornton from Stillorgan, Co. Dublin, who returned from the UK a number of years ago to care for her parents, recently spoke at an event in Buswell’s Hotel at which 17 NGOs called for an increased investment in home care. Here, she talks to thejournal.ie about her experiences and how reductions in home care hours affect the ability of family carers to continue to care for their loved ones.
