Family Carers Ireland is the national charity representing the 500,000+ family carers in Ireland. We work with determination to support and advocate for fair treatment of family carers throughout the country, to secure recognition of their invaluable contribution to Irish society and to enable them to participate fully and actively participate in that society.
Your kind donation will help to support those most in need during and beyond the Covid-19 pandemic.
For example, we have allocated additional resources to our National Freephone Careline 1800 24 07 24 which since March 2020, has experienced a 320% increase in calls from concerned family carers seeking support and advice.
We are delivering a wide range of online workshops and training courses to help family carers care safely and confidently for their loved ones at home and we are providing emergency respite to family carers in need where available locally.
Caring for a loved-one at home can be a source of comfort in a bleak situation. Sadly, many people in high-dependency and long-term caring roles themselves suffer isolation, poor physical and emotional health and even poverty. This is the case now more than ever due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Your contribution will help us to change that and we remain committed to ensuring that no-one will be left to care alone over the coming months.
Donations of €250 or over in a year are eligible for tax relief. €250 is actually worth €362 to Family Carers Ireland - at no extra cost to you.
If you choose to donate €250 or more, please download this CHY3 form, complete it and either scan and email to mconnolly@familycarers.ie or you can post it to: Michelle Connolly, Family Carers Ireland, Market Square, Tullamore, Co Offaly.
