Family Carers Ireland in association with Co. Wicklow Network for Older People are seeking volunteers for a new befriending service for Arklow and Bray. There are many older people who are lonely and living in isolation in Arklow and Bray and surrounding areas and this affects their health and quality of life dramatically.
The support offered by a befriender provides companionship and the opportunity to talk to someone on a regular basis.
A friendly volunteer could simply sit and chat or accompany an older person or maybe for a walk, or give an older person the confidence to join a local community group or activity.
What: Training programme for new befriending service
Where: Arklow Bay Hotel, Arklow
When: Thursday 14th January, 2016
Time: 18.00 P.M.
Do you want to be part of a vital service for family carers and volunteer with us? If so, join us on the 14th.
